Movement is My Rx (8 week Musculoskeletal Health Program)

Movement is My Rx is a free 8 week Musculoskeletal Health Program. This is a guided program that combines self-administered physiotherapy drills, fitness programming, and breathwork to eliminate pain and improve your body's ability to do what you want it to.  There are 4 programmed sessions each week, and all participants will receive four emails every week regarding the program of the day along with extra motivational and educational content. 

The Movement is My Rx program also consists of onsite coaching for one hour a day, twice a week. 

These classes are taught by Movement Rx's expert staff on Tuesdays and Thursdays, at 8am and noon in Training Room 6 on the first floor.  

If you've participated before, you'll be moved onto the next Level.

NOTE:  Zovio will cover your time at the kickoff, closeout, and assessments. ***You will need to get approval for these times.*** The time at the coaching sessions is your own.  
 
In this program you will learn how to:  
 
• Breathe to reduce inflammation, calm anxiety, and support your joints 
• Safely develop the strength, mobility, and stability to improve your body's longevity
• Decrease joint pain in minutes using minimal tools 
• Fix the movement patterns that are causing almost all of your pain

Step 1 

Clear Your Schedule 

If you want to return to an activity or sport, want to sweat a bit, and/or want to fix lingering low back, shoulder, or knee pain, then check with your Manager and clear your schedule!

Coordinate an Assessment Time

Our team will review your application, and once supervisor/manager approval is received we will contact you to schedule your 15 minute Assessment slot.  Assessments will be on the same day as the Kickoff Event** for each program.  That day is below:

You will also repeat the assessment at the end of your program to measure progress.  Each assessment includes a simple global movement test, emotional energy survey, and pain survey.

**ATTENTION:  Employees that are not able to be present for the kickoff, closeout, or assessments will receive a Zoom link to attend virtually.

Join a Team, Start the Program, and Feel the Difference!

All participants are encouraged to create or join a team of 4-5 participants.  There's a team-based accountability plan built into each program, with juicy rewards included.  (Just ask your colleagues from the Clinton campus.)

Frequently Asked Questions
What should I expect on the Movement is My Rx program?
There are 4 programmed days per week.  Typically they're Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, but you can do them as your schedule allows.  You will sweat, so dress appropriately.  If you  have access to a gym, that's great, but not necessary.  Most exercises can be done at home with modifications.  It is designed to follow what we have our patients do during visits.  Stick to it and you will feel much, much better. 
Who is the Movement Rx team?
Movement Rx is a Physical Therapy and Wellness company based in San Diego.  We have Doctors of Physical Therapy and Movement Coaches who will be available to you.  The current team of Doctors of Physical Therapy can be seen HERE .  
How long does the daily Movement is My Rx program last?
If you complete everything each programmed day (and you should), the exercises take between 40-60 minutes to complete.
What if I am unsure of how to do a drill or exercise?
Every exercise has written and video instruction.  Read and listen carefully to the cues you are given for each exercise or movement, as there’s a ton of knowledge distilled into that guidance.  Contact us with any questions.
I have a specific diagnosis.  Are the programs OK for me?
This program can be used by just about anyone.  Sciatica, bulged disc, chondromalacia, degenerative conditions, torn labrum, post-op, etc.  We've treated all these things in our clinics, and wrote this program to include those issues.  You can discuss any questions during your 1-on-1 Assessment.  If you would like to contact us us about a specific diagnosis, call us at 619-210-0945 or email us at getbetter@movement-rx.com.
How do I access the programs and other materials?
The program and all other materials are in your Member Area.  Once the program kicks off, you will receive instructions on where to access the program.  You will be able to access the platform on any modern device (i.e. not your old Blackberry or flip phone).  
How long does it take to start seeing results?
Great question.  That of course varies, but we’ve seen people on the program go from 9 out of 10 pain to 2 out of 10 within a week.  The key is to continue with the program for a while after the pain goes away.  Often times the pain response goes away before the underlying dysfunction does.
If I have a question or need technical support, what do I do?
Ask away!  We monitor the private member facebook group and our technical support email between 8am and 5pm M-F (Pacific Standard Time).  You can also call us during those times to talk with our support team.
